I have lived my life fascinated by others experiences, when I was young this manifested as an obsession with reading and hanging out at the local library. Experiencing as much of the world as I could through the stories that I could get my hands on, as well as crushing the local summer reading programming.
This was the start of a fascination with storytelling that would eventually lead me to journalism, documentary, and video production in college. I believed, somewhat naively, that by telling the right stories that I could change the world for the better. That my fascination with storytelling and my talent for visual storytelling could combine to create meaningful work.
I’m still looking for how I can use my work to impact the world and in the meantime I know that by developing my skills and providing service to the people I work with I can make meaningful work for my clients.
My long term career goal is to work with a small production company making branded content in personal long form documentary style. This branded content would financially support community minded filmmaking that supported non profit work in the Portland area.
